Stanford offers three programs designed to support staff members undertaking a training course (STAP) or pursuing a degree (STRP) and to support the children of qualified employees pursuing an undergraduate degree (TGP). A summary of the three programs is on the EAP brochure. Click the name of each program below for detailed information.
The Staff Training Assistance Program (STAP) provides for reimbursement of tuition costs, registration fees, and required textbooks for any training activity either related directly to your job or a career development effort undertaken with the knowledge and approval of your supervisor. The University policy for this program is set forth in the Administrative Guide, Section 22.11.
The Staff Tuition Reimbursement Program (STRP) supports employee development by providing partial or full reimbursement of tuition costs for courses meeting requirements of undergraduate or graduate degree programs related to current performance or planned career development. Individuals must be enrolled in a degree program to qualify for assistance. The policy for this program is set forth in the Administrative Guide, Section 22.11.
The Tuition Grant Program (TGP) helps eligible faculty and staff pay for the cost of undergraduate college education for their eligible dependent children. The program pays all or a portion of college tuition at accredited institutions. The policy for this program is set forth in the Adminstrative Guide, Section 27.4.
